The ACT Health Minister is likely to have pleaded the territory's case for special consideration in hospital funding during a health ministers' meeting on Friday.

When the ACT government revealed they had a record-high deficit - now estimated to be $1.113 billion - in June this year, they blamed rising hospital costs and a tight-pursed federal government.

But when they boosted their health budget by $227 million in early 2025, it was the fourth time in five years they had failed to budget correctly for the sector.
