AUSTIN, Minn.- A vending machine meant to distribute Narcan for free in Mower County was vandalized at the end August.

Recovery is Happening, the non-profit that worked with the county's Opioid Advisory Committee to install it says the estimate costs to fix it are projected to be around $1,000 and it is expected to be out of commission for around 2 weeks.

Brandon Moseng, peer recovery specialist, says the machine had only been in place for less than two months before it needed to be taken away for repairs.

"I was pretty bummed out about, but I knew there would be a bit of backlash from it. I just hope that it doesn't happen in the future," Moseng said.
