Charlie Kirk's wife Erika has spoken for the first time since the conservative activist was killed.

Kirk, 31, was assassinated while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

He leaves behind his wife and two children, aged three and one.

Erika delivered an emotional and powerful address on Friday, local time, in her first public remarks since her husband's death.

In a direct message to the person who killed Charlie, she said: "You have no idea what you unleashed".

“The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry,” she said.

“The movement my husband built will not die.”

She also said the legacy of the 31-year-old will go on, with his scheduled campus tour, a December conference, and his radio and podcast show set to continue
