QUINCY (WGEM) - The bridge to Quinsippi Island is more than a hundred years old, and concerns about its safety were raised on Friday.

Pictures were posted on social media showing one of the bridge supports with debris piled up in front of it.

WGEM News took those concerns to the Quincy Park District, and they told us the bridge is safe and was inspected earlier this year.

Saturday is Frontier Settlement Days on Quinsippi Island from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and organizers are hoping for a big crowd.

Organizers stated that there will be many re-enactors and period displayers showing what life was like in the 1800s.
