CLEVELAND, Ohio - A 32-year-old Akron man was arrested Thursday after a domestic incident that escalated into a police chase in Barberton, authorities said.

Vincent Torres was involved in a dispute with a woman at a home on Florida Place, according to police. Officers were called to the residence about 6 p.m. When they arrived, Torres drove off in the woman’s vehicle, police said.

Officers located it and attempted to stop Torres, but he refused to pull over and led police on a chase, according to police.

The pursuit ended when Torres crashed into a utility pole in the front yard of a home in the 1100 block of Wooster Road West, authorities said.
