Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist who was shot and killed Sept. 10 at a college event in Utah , was a well-known Oregon Ducks supporter.
In a statement addressing the nation Sept. 12 , his wife, Erika, said the Illinois native loved the MLB's Chicago Cubs and the Ducks.
"My goodness, did he love the Oregon Ducks," Erika Kirk said Sept. 12. "He'd want me to say 'go Ducks', so I have to since they play on Saturday. So go Ducks."
Kirk, 31, attended the Ducks' 32-31 victory at Autzen Stadium over Ohio State in 2024 and "built his events around their game times," per Outkick founder Clay Travis.
Kirk posted about the Ducks on social media often, despite not attending UO.
