SALISBURY — The city of Salisbury held its annual 9/11 memorial on Saturday, honoring the thousands of people who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

The Salisbury Fire Department has traditionally held an annual memorial on the day at the Salisbury-Rowan Firefighter Memorial, located at the historic Station #5.

Thursday’s event included an address from Salisbury Fire Chief Bob Parnell and music performed by the department’s Fire Analyst Madison McCorkle, including the national anthem and “Amazing Grace.”
