COLUMBUS, Ohio — A false threat targeting Wilson Middle School in Newark on Friday morning triggered lockdowns at multiple schools. The incident marked the second swatting call affecting Newark City School District schools since the academic year began last month, according to district officials.

Those threats have also prompted one mother to remove her children from the district entirely.

Alexis Moore, a mother of two Newark students, decided to homeschool her children following Friday's threat, which also placed her daughter's adjacent elementary school under lockdown as a precautionary measure. The Newark Division of Police determined the threat was not credible.
