A torture thug who battered his victim with a mallet and threatened to carve up his feet with a cheese grater has been jailed for two years. ‌

Martin McLanders was so terrified during the sustained attack that he jumped out of a third floor window to escape to safety. Mr McLanders had been held captive during an "exercise in torture" by Garry Hay after being suspected of stealing cash from a money jar. ‌

Dundee Sheriff Court was told that he landed in bushes after fleeing from the flat after 48-year-old Hay [24-4-77] pulled out a cheese grater to slice his feet. ‌
