LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln’s Museum of American Speed has been named the Best Motor Racing Museum in the country, according to a vote by Newsweek readers.
The museum is made up of about 300,000 square feet of gallery space, filled to the brim with just about any kind of car you can think of.
There’s also a variety of motorcycles, racing bikes, BMX bikes, model cars and car-related artwork throughout the space as well.
Tim Matthews, the museum’s curator, said it’s all about “automotive archaeology” and showing off what the automobile means to America throughout its history, dating back to the 1920’s.
“We have friends that help us throughout the country,” Matthews said. “When they find something special or when there’s that great human story behind an object, or some important part
