MADISON (WKOW) –- The Republican Party of Dane County held a vigil for Charlie Kirk at the State Street corner of the Capitol, in front of the Forward statue. Many attendees carried American flags to honor Kirk.
Erica DeGlopper, who attended the vigil, said her children introduced her to Kirk.
"He was just talking … I mean … that's the best way to resolve our differences, arbitration, coming together," DeGlopper said.
Billie Johnson, chair of the Republican Party of Dane County, spoke about Kirk's long-standing impact.
"At Utah Valley, there were 3,000 students there, but I imagine a few years ago he'd have been lucky to have 30," Johnson said.
Johnson said Kirk aimed to foster open dialogue with others.
