Hudsonville’s defense established itself as one of the state’s best during last season’s run to the Division 1 championship game, and despite losing eight starters to graduation, there has been little drop off from that unit this year.

The Eagle defense nearly pitched a shutout against Caledonia and scored a touchdown of its own in Friday’s 38-6 home win over the Fighting Scots.
