NEW PALESTINE, Ind. — The top-ranked New Palestine Dragons claimed a statement win Friday night after shutting out Mt. Vernon and racking up 71 total points.
The Marauders have struggled so far this season, dropping their first three games of the year, including their Hoosier Heritage Conference opener last week against Greenfield-Central. Meanwhile, New Palestine couldn't have asked for a better start to the season after scoring three easy wins over Kokomo, Decatur Central and conference rival Yorktown.
New Palestine was in control of the game from the very start, scoring 58 unanswered points by halftime.
Mt. Vernon never had an answer. The Dragons poured on two more scores, once in the third and then again in the fourth, to score a whopping 71-point win and move to 4-0 on the seas
