NANAKULI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The family of a 17-year-old who died following a shooting in Nanakuli was among dozens of West Oahu residents calling for an end to gun violence Friday.
Family members of Kamakea Iaea said the 17-year-old was heading out to go camping with friends early Saturday morning when he was caught in the crossfire of a gunfight at Zablan Beach .
He was found lying in the road, hospitalized in critical condition, and declared brain dead two days later .
Friday’s sign-waving on Farrington Highway took place near the spot officers initially found Iaea.
