HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A dog on the verge of visiting every state in the nation is ready to finish his journey with a trip to Hawaii.

The Aloha State is the final stop for ‘Dude’ who just crossed Alaska (no. 49) off his list.

The 5-year-old golden retriever mix is traveling with his owner Ryan Brinkman who’s set up a GoFundMe to finance a charter flight to Oahu .

The 39-year-old says Dude is too big to ride in the cabin of a commercial plane and doesn’t want to place him in the cargo hold.

The pair began their cross-country journey in 2023 during a road trip that started in Maine, and aim to make it to Hawaii this winter.
