There is, at first glance, little to recommend the St. Louis City SC at Montreal game among the 15 on the Major League Soccer schedule for Saturday. Montreal has been eliminated from playoff contention in the Eastern Conference, and City SC is about to be in the Western Conference. It is one of only two games in which both teams are out of playoff contention.

Turn the standings upside down, though, and this is a game with a whole lot on the line.

City SC is in 29th among 30 teams in MLS, two points ahead of the last place Los Angeles Galaxy. Montreal is tied for 28th, two points ahead of City SC, four points ahead of the Galaxy, which has one more game left on its schedule than the other teams at the bottom.
