Four people are in police custody after a stolen car investigation led to an officer involved shooting and brief pursuit in Warren.

At approximately 6:35 p.m. Friday, Warren police officers responded to a report of a stolen GMC Acadia near Eight Mile and Waltham roads. Officers located the vehicle backed into a parking space at an open business.

The vehicle was occupied by a driver and three passengers.

As officers in full uniform approached the vehicle to investigate, the Acadia attempted to flee.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the Acadia struck two Warren patrol cars and allegedly drove towards officers who were on foot in the parking lot.

An officer-involved shooting then occurred. The Acadia then fled the scene with Warren officers in pursuit.
