Since the big league team can’t give us any good news, here is one small reason for optimism: Kodai Senga pitched great for Syracuse last night. He did something he’s been unable to do with the big league club lately: throw a quality start. He yielded just one run on three hits in six innings of work. Even more importantly, he fanned eight batters and didn’t walk any. That one run came in the second inning, but Syracuse plated a pair of runs in the fifth to take the lead.
