Even though runners might not all have the same mile time, they’re pretty aligned when it comes to what to eat before a race.
As the Garmin Marathon Series is just a week away, area athletes are not only training their legs but also their guts.
At the local Italian restaurant, Sebastiano’s, chef and owner Jonathan Sagaser said that he’ll likely see a lot of runners in the restaurant the night before the race to carb load on lots of house-made pastas. The chef is a runner himself and is set to run the full Garmin Marathon on Sept. 21.
“I think it’s a fantastic thing,” Sagaser said of the marathon series coming to Toledo. “I use Garmin. I have a Garmin watch. ... ‘It’ll be a really neat course to start downtown, across the river, you go along the river ... you go down to Maumee, and the
