Angela Mills worked as a pharmacy tech for 15 years prior to applying for the new Water Workforce Program at Owens Community College in the fall of 2023.

“I did think about being a pharmacist, but there really was no room for growth, and I was unemployed for a few months,” the Toledo resident said.

Ms. Mills is now an operator in training for the Fremont Water Department. A Clay High School graduate, she said she has always loved being around water.

“I love water and protecting the environment,” she said. “This was an EPA funded program. We did not have to pay a thing for it. Owens paid for me to take the EPA Class 1 license, which I passed.”
