SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – A resident reported Sept. 1 that two pit bulls entered her backyard and attacked her dog.
A responding officer spotted the loose dogs, and both began to charge at him, with one grabbing bite of his pants and bringing him to his knees. He was able to free himself with assistance from another officer, but the dogs continued to bark and began to approach once more, forcing the officer to fire a shot at them.
The gunshot struck one dog in the face and they both ran off.
The owner of the dogs arrived home shortly thereafter. He said that he had left the dogs home alone with his son and when his son, 15, left the home, he left the American bullies leashed to the rim of a truck in their backyard. The dogs subsequently broke free from their leashes and attacked the neighbor
