CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - During the 40th Cleveland Division of Fire graduation on Friday, the family of Cadet Symeon S. Williams Sr., who tragically passed away during training, received a badge, helmet and plaque to honor his memory.
On May 16, Cleveland Fire Cadet Symeon Williams was performing physical training at the end of the academy’s fifth week when he suffered a medical emergency.
Cleveland Fire and EMS paramedics immediately treated Williams and was swiftly brought to MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland Fire PIO Lt. Mike Norman stated, “but heroic resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.”
His funeral was held on May 29, and he was laid to rest at Cleveland Memorial Gardens.
