Charlie Kirk was remembered at a “freedom movement” rally in Perth’s Supreme Court Gardens on Saturday that drew a flag-festooned crowd of about 500 “patriots” and was followed by a march through the city centre.
Kirk was honoured by speakers at the Australia Unites Against Government Corruption event, but a minute’s silence for the right-wing hero was cut short by a chant of “Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi” from a small contingent, with everyone else joining in when the minute was up.
Most of the speakers’ ire was aimed at State and Federal governments, the police, the World Health Organisation and the media.
COVID vaccinations and mandates remained a persistent theme, but new looming threats to freedoms included digital ID and social media age restrictions, the speakers warned.
They
