Reinforcements to the Chicago Cubs pitching staff will soon be arriving.

An already solid Cubs rotation is expected to be gaining right-hander Michael Soroka at some point in the coming days. Soroka could potentially be considered the biggest move Chicago made at the trade deadline.

Soroka was one of four players Chicago brought in at the deadline but was the lone starting pitcher acquired by the organization. He was expected to be a key part of the second-half run before an injury derailed those plans.

Soroka pitched just two innings in his first game with the Cubs before being removed from the game due to a right shoulder strain. Soroka has been on the injured list since early August, but that stint is expected to end soon.
