STEPHENS CITY, Va. — After a scoreless first half against Jefferson on Friday, the strategy for the final 30 minutes was simple for the Sherando, Virginia, football team — ground and pound.

The Warriors did just that.

Led by tailback Jaylen Tasco-Murray and quarterback Jacob Henry, Sherando racked up 198 yards on the ground after the break and rumbled to a 14-0 triumph over the Cougars at Arrowhead Stadium.

Tasco-Murray and Henry combined for 195 yards rushing in the second half, with Tasco-Murray delivering a 28-yard scoring burst in the third quarter to snap the tie. Henry had just one pass in the half, but that was a 4-yard TD toss to tight end Nick Usa that iced the game with 6:34 to go.
