The Scottish star endured a frustrating end to his third day at the BMW PGA Championship and won’t feature on Sunday due to a further-reduction in the field.
With a large number of 86 making it through at the halfway stage, an additional cut line was installed by DP World Tour chiefs at the end of the third day’s play to trim the field again to a maximum of 78 players for the final shootout on Sunday.
MacIntyre was in line to make it through until a last-hole setback resulted in a bogey six which resulted in him missing out by a single shot after carding a level-par 72.
