Republican candidate for Pittsburgh mayor, Tony Moreno, was named in a federal civil rights lawsuit filed against Allegheny County, the city of Pittsburgh, and specific law enforcement individuals.

According to court documents, the lawsuit claims Moreno was listed as an arresting officer and fraudulently reduced charges in a domestic case that occurred in 2019. Advertisement

Moreno, who said during a press conference Thursday that he retired from the Pittsburgh police force in 2018, denied the allegations, saying he was surprised to be notified of the lawsuit.
