Access to new mountain faces for 2025-26 ski season
New chairlifts to unreached mountain faces are popping up around Alberta heading into the 2025-26 skiing season.
At Castle Mountain, which hugs the southern edge of the B.C. border, the Stagecoach Express is the first lift expansion at the resort since 2006 — and in some ways, marks the end of an era.

“I would say, at least in part, it was a function of good timing,” said Cole Fawcett, manager of marketing for the park.
Plans for a new chairlift had been in place as far back as 2017, with the resort deciding to finally pull the trigger after a four-person lift went up for sale at the nearby Sunshine Village in Banff.
