HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A record breaking show of generosity on Friday for the two day Kapiolani Radiothon for Kids.
The fundraiser for Hawaii families in need raised $910,000, the largest amount ever for the annual fundraiser now in its 19th year.
Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and children will use the money for lifesaving programs including a new cancer and infusion center.
HMSA’s Jennifer Diesman said, “We want to ensure that anyone who receives a cancer diagnosis, especially kids, can get the care they need right here in Hawaii with their families and not have to travel to the mainland.”
Since it began in 2007, the Radiothon has raised more than 6 million dollars for Kapiolani.
