The man steals strikes, plain and simple.

“One of our quiet advantages every day is Dillon and Jake (Rogers) and their ability to handle a pitching staff,” Tigers manager AJ Hinch said. “A lot of that is about calling the right pitches and creating a game plan to attack the other side. But the game is won at the margins.

“And the ability to present pitches is an important ingredient behind the plate and our guys do it as well as anybody in the league.”

Rogers, in limited duty, is a plus-2 frames above average. Dingler ranks in the top 96th percentile in baseball with plus-9 frames above average, per Statcast.
