PRAYERS and well wishes have flooded in for college football coach Shawn Clark after he was rushed to hospital following a medical emergency.

Clark is an offensive line coach for UCF Athletics , whom he joined after Scott Frost was appointed by the school for a second time.

But the 50-year-old suffered a medical emergency on Tuesday evening and was hospitalized.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the school said: "Last night, UCF offensive line coach Shawn Clark experienced a medical emergency.

"He is currently in a stable condition and receiving appropriate care.

"Coach Frost and our football and administration staffs are fully supporting coach Clark and his loved ones during this time and our thoughts and prayers are with Shawn and his family .
