The Detroit Tigers remain cautiously optimistic about ace left-hander Tarik Skubal’s status one day after he exited a game due to tightness on the left side of his upper body.
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch told reporters in Miami that all tests came back clean for Skubal and that he remains -- tentatively -- on schedule to make his next start on Thursday in Detroit against the Cleveland Guardians.
Shortstop Javier Baez also appears to have dodged a trip to the injured list after fouling a ball off his forehead on Friday night. Baez wasn’t in the starting lineup on Saturday but told reporters that he would be available off the bench .
