A couple claim a fake landlord “lured” them in and left them homeless after allegedly “scamming” them out of a £1,000 deposit on a property he didn’t own.

When Em Pereira and Ashley Baker signed a tenancy agreement with Diamond Operations Ltd for a two-bed static caravan in South Street, Meopham, they were looking forward to moving in.

After giving notice at their current home, the pair set a moving date for June 18, and the “landlord”, Arran Singh, who also goes by other names, agreed to make some improvements ahead of their arrival.

However, on the day of the move, Mr Singh allegedly told the couple he was stuck in Manchester and would be back in a couple of days.
