ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Police found a man’s body at a northwest Atlanta home during a welfare check on Saturday afternoon.

Officers responded to the apartment building in the 590 block of Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard NW in the Bankhead neighborhood at around 12:45 p.m. The 62-year-old man, who has not been identified, died from a gunshot wound.

The circumstances of the shooting are currently unknown and remain under investigation. Police have not identified any suspects.
