ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Sections of some major roads in Midtown Atlanta will be shut down for weeks as crews make repairs to the sewer system, according to the city.
Sporadic lane closures begin as crews start preparing on Monday, Sept. 15. Construction and full road closures begin on Wednesday, Sept. 17, and will continue until mid to late October.
Once closed, the roads will remain shut down full-time until construction is complete. The closures are:
10th Street NE from Peachtree Street NE to east of Myrtle Street NE
Piedmont Avenue from 10th Street NE to 961 Piedmont Avenue
Several detours will also be put in place:
Westbound lanes on 10th NE going toward Peachtree Street will be reduced to one lane.
