KENT COUNTY, Mich. — The Cascade Township location of Smokey Bones, a popular BBQ bar and grill chain, has closed.

The restaurant, located at 4875 28th Street SE, is listed as being "permanently closed" on Google. When you call the restaurant's phone number, an automated message plays that states the location is permanently closed.

The closure comes just weeks after the owners of the chain, Twin Hospitality Group Inc., said in a release that it's been focused on reviewing the Smokey Bones portfolio and closing underperforming units.

On Sept. 2, Twin Hospitality said it identified 15 underperforming Smokey Bones locations, 10 of which were closed and five of which would be closed by the end of the fiscal third quarter.
