The Oregon State Beavers ’ road football game against the Texas Tech Red Raiders is in a weather delay due to lightning in the Lubbock, Texas, area.
The game kicked off with dark clouds over the stadium, and just minutes into the first quarter referee Chris Wiggins announced that the game would be paused.
On the Fox broadcast, play-by-play announcer Tim Brando said the inclement weather was expected to move through the area quickly, allowing play to resume within a half hour or an hour.
The delay began about 12:47 p.m. Pacific time. It came just six plays into the game, with 12:28 on the clock in the first quarter. When play resumes, Texas Tech will face third and 1 from the Oregon State 41-yard line.
