Gardner-Webb football hopes to score a win Saturday when it welcomes The Citadel for its home opener.

After opening the season with a come-from-behind win at Western Carolina, the Runnin’ Bulldogs fell 59-12 last week at Georgia Tech.

The CItadel is also 1-1 thus far, rebounding from a loss to top-ranked North Dakota State last week with a 40-13 victory at Samford.

Saturday’s meeting is the third between the programs, The Citadel claiming both. Their most recent matchup was in Sept. 2016, the Bulldogs taking a 31-24 victory in Boiling Springs.
