UVALDE, Texas — The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) has announced a temporary closure due to what they are calling a "significant technology incident."

UCISD says "ransomware" has been detected in servers across the district, which is reportedly severely affecting access to several of the following essential online systems:

Phones

Some AC thermostats

Central camera monitoring location

Visitor management systems

Skyward

Other critical online services

The district says they have reported the incident to the FBI as they will reportedly use forensic analysis to determine "how the malware was introduced and assess whether any sensitive information has been compromised."
