LITTLE ROCK, Ark — The Desha County Sheriff's Office has reported that a fatal house fire has taken the life of a 50-year-old man.

Authorities said Alvin Larkin Jr., who lived at the house, was a victim of the fire.

Officials stated in a Facebook post that Tillar and McGehee Fire Departments were sent to 203 East Second Street in Reed, Arkansas, after dispatch received a call that the home was on fire with residents still inside.

The crews arrived and found the house engulfed in flames, with two people inside when the fire started.

The sheriff's office stated that one person was able to get out, but the other was still inside when crews arrived.
