Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has scheduled a whirlwind diplomatic tour over the coming weeks, including an expected meeting with US President Donald Trump.
Following intense speculation about the meeting, it appears Mr Albanese will most likely meet President Trump in New York.
This means he would avoid attending the White House Oval Office, where President Trump has publicly confronted multiple world leaders .
Defence Minister Richard Marles told Sky News Sunday Agenda he had "no doubt" that a meeting would occur, but did not say when.
"Oh, well, I'm not about to speculate on that... I've got no doubt that in the not too distant future, you'll see a meeting between the Prime Minister and the President," he said.
