The Oregon football team got off to a bit of a slower start than it is used to but separated in the second half Sept. 13 to handle Northwestern in its Big Ten Conference road opener, 34-14.
The Ducks' starting unit was forced to punt for the first time all season on its opening drive but moved the ball efficiently afterwards and took advantage of mistakes to lead 17-0 at the halftime break. A 14-0 third quarter was enough to bury the Wildcats for good, and the home team got two garbage-time touchdowns in the fourth.
