EVANSTON, Ill. – Dan Lanning didn't know Charlie Kirk was an Oregon football fan until recently, but that didn't change his feelings about the Sept. 10 murder of the conservative activist during a public event at a Utah college.

"Life matters," the Oregon coach said Saturday, Sept. 13, after the No. 5 Ducks beat Northwestern 34-14 at Martin Stadium , "and I think we've lost sight of that."
