LEROY, N.Y. — A Western New York teacher has been placed on administrative leave in connection to a series of social media posts following Charlie Kirk's shooting death earlier this week.

Merritt Holly, superintendent of schools for the LeRoy Central School District , posted a message on the district website . It included a message from the teacher, as well, calling the posts "inappropriate, inflammatory, and offensive."

Holly said the district learned of social media posts about the killing of the Turning Point USA founder posts on Thursday evening.

Those posts used "disparaging language to describe Mr. Kirk's supporters. We met with the teacher this morning, before the school day began, to discuss our concerns about the posts. The teacher immediately expressed regret and informed
