AUSTIN (KXAN) -- So far, it hasn't been the kind of day the Texas Longhorns were hoping for.

With three of their first four drives ending on downs, and a red zone possession ending in an interception, the Longhorns lead UTEP 14-3 at halftime.

Texas running back CJ Baxter limped off the field after a 6-yard gain on the first play of the game and didn't return. Arch Manning hasn't been good, completing 5 of 16 passes for 69 yards, with his interception coming early in the second quarter on the UTEP 10-yard line.

Running back Jerrick Gibson has 59 rushing yards on 16 carries, and Manning scored both of the Longhorns' touchdowns on a 2-yard bootleg and a 5-yard scramble. Through two-and-a-half games, Texas doesn't have a rushing touchdown by a running back.
