The Ann Summers store on is set to close next week, with an American fast-food chain lined up to replace it. The adult and lingerie shop will shut its doors on Saturday, September 20, with signs in the window saying: “All stock must go”.
Plans approved by the indicate that the space will be taken up by US chicken brand Popeyes. The Louisiana-inspired chain promises a “taste of New Orleans” as part of its plans to have 100 UK stores by the end of 2025.
The planning application is for Popeyes signage and doesn’t give details about the store itself. The chain hasn’t confirmed an opening date, although jobs were advertised as far back as last year.
