NEW BOSTON – Monroe County Region cross country teams took home most of the trophies at the 56th annual Huron Invitational at Willow Metropark on Saturday, Sept. 13.

New Boston Huron swept the Division 2 team titles for both boys and girls and Erie Mason’s boys took the Division 3-4 crown.

Christian Craanen set a school record in taking the Division 3 boys championship and St. Mary Catholic Central teammate Bella LaFountain was the girls champion.

In Division 2, the individual winners were Jacob Stanislawski of Flat Rock and New Boston Huron’s Avery Turk.

Craanen, a sophomore, ran 15:42.8 to shatter the school record set by Dave Brent in 2004 by 9 seconds.
