HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A massive tribute concert in Waikiki to honor legendary island music artist Fiji is taking place on Saturday.
Fans lined up to enter the Waikiki Shell, where about 8,500 fans are expected to pay homage to George Veikoso, who passed away in July .
Ilona Irvine and Manao Company are set to take the stage to open the concert.
Meanwhile, nearly 20,000 more people will be packed into the overflow section at Kapiolani Park, watching a live feed of the concert.
The enormous turnout that began early this morning is proving how much the artist Fiji will be missed.
“We parked at 7 a.m., but we started making it here around 10 a.m.,” said attendee Aliyah Alshemary. “Decked out in Fiji shirts, the crowd was prepared to wait, lounging on blankets and staying fed and hy
