PEKIN ( 25News Now ) - Illinois State Police said roads have reopened at Illinois Route 9 and 14th Street in Pekin where one person was killed Saturday morning in a multi-vehicle crash.

State Police said first responders were called shortly before 8 a.m. after a sport utility vehicle hit a pickup truck and motorhome.

The person who died is from Tazewell County and was pronounced dead at the scene, said Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley.

The coroner expects to release the victim’s name on Sunday after relatives are notified, and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Hanley said his office and State Police are investigating. Also at the scene Saturday morning were Pekin Police and Fire departments, Advanced Medical Transport, and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
