Thomas Skinner, a former contestant on The Apprentice, has publicly admitted to being unfaithful to his wife, Sinead. The 34-year-old television personality disclosed that he had a "two-week fling" with a beauty clinic owner shortly after their wedding in May 2022. Skinner described the affair as the "biggest mistake" of his life, expressing deep regret for his actions.
The affair began after he met the woman at a local pub, where she suggested cosmetic slimming treatments. Skinner acknowledged that guilt set in immediately after the infidelity occurred. He stated, "I woke up and immediately regretted my infidelity," and added, "I'm so lucky she forgave me."
Reflecting on the impact of his actions, Skinner said, "It was the worst thing I've ever had to do. It was terrible. I'm a very, very open book, and I don't hide anything from my wife. She was obviously distraught, upset." He noted that he would have understood if Sinead had chosen to end their relationship after his confession.
Despite the turmoil, Skinner credits Sinead as his rock, stating, "My wife is my rock. She's the person I adore more than anything in the world. And I let her down, I'm ashamed. I'm so fortunate my wife's forgiven me; she didn't deserve it. I was a selfish person."
The couple has since reconciled and are reportedly happier than ever, with Sinead supporting Skinner during his participation in the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing. However, Skinner revealed that the affair coincided with the tragic death of a close friend, known as Big Mark, who had been a father figure to him.
In a twist, the woman involved in the affair claims it was more than just a brief fling, asserting that she was in a relationship with Skinner. This revelation comes amid increased media attention surrounding Skinner, who has recently made headlines for his behaviour during press events for Strictly.
During a recent interview, Skinner reportedly "stormed out" after noticing messages on a journalist's phone that referenced a personal story from his past. He later explained on Instagram that he felt caught off guard by the situation and decided to step away to gather himself.
The BBC has since issued a statement regarding the incident, emphasising that any behaviour falling below expected standards will not be tolerated on their programmes. Sources present during the press event described Skinner's reaction as unexpected, noting that he had been in good spirits prior to the incident.
